For sellers
Proof of placement
Proof of placement is how the seller tells the buyer (and Mianos) that the ad is live as agreed. It's also how you get paid — funds release 7 days after you submit a valid proof. Here's exactly what counts.
What you upload
One photo, screenshot, or analytics export per ad. Submit it from the order page the moment the ad goes live. There's no formal review — the buyer sees it immediately and the 7-day approval window starts.
Physical surfaces (billboard, window, vehicle, wall)
For physical placements, a clear photo wins:
- Photo of the ad in place, taken in daylight if possible.
- Include enough surrounding context that the location is recognisable (street name, building, neighbouring storefronts).
- A timestamp helps — most phones embed one in the image; if not, take a second photo of a newspaper or phone clock alongside the ad.
- For vehicles, include the licence plate so the buyer knows it's the agreed car.
Digital channels (newsletter, podcast, social, screen)
For digital placements, a link is usually better than a screenshot — the buyer can verify it themselves:
- Newsletter: screenshot of the sent email + a public archive link if you have one.
- Podcast: timestamp link to the spot in the published episode + the published date.
- Social post: link to the published post + a screenshot in case it's later edited or removed.
- Digital screen: photo of the screen at the venue running the creative.
Payout timing
Once your proof is in, the buyer has 7 days to approve. They normally do within a day or two — most buyers want to confirm so we can move on. If they don't respond at all, funds auto-release on day 7. If they dispute, see the disputes guide.
Common reasons proof gets rejected
If a buyer disputes your proof, it's usually one of:
- Photo doesn't match the listing's described surface.
- Screenshot is from a draft or test environment, not the live publication.
- Date doesn't match the agreed start.
- Ad placement is partially obscured or substantially different from what was sold.
